A note from Hoonboy:

I learnt a few lessons from this show. The main one being that once you get past a certain speed of performance, Ableton seems a bit flaky at capturing all of the control data accurately. As a result there are some instances in this recording where the drums are out of time. This did not occur in the performance, but as a result of the behaviour during bouncing of the Reaktor instruments I use to sequence and improvise my drum parts. Maybe next time I should take a leaf out of Tommy’s book and just use an audio recorder. Anyway, enjoy this set. It is 97% as good as the show I played – which ain’t bad by all accounts

“This release was meant to be a live set from my recent show in Ghent. Unfortunately, a few days before the release date my house was burgled and my main laptop and other things taken. The Belgium set was on that laptop along with months of work on various projects.

Fortunately at around the same time I was asked to perform a Raggacore set at Bangface in London on 17/12/10, and it has been recorded and mastered to be presented to you today.

In addition to the tracks below, the set contains improvisations using 2 channels of drum patterns, a channel of scratches, and another of acapellas and hits, not to mention various tempo synced effects. I program my set carefully in Ableton so that I may improvise on stage and keep everything sounding good.” – Hoonboy
